William ("Billy") Cleveland is a native of Atlanta. He handles all labor and employment issues, as well as workers’ compensation claims. After graduating from Elon University, he attended Mercer University School of Law, where he was on the Dean’s List and was awarded a stipend for his Third-Year Practice Act with the Metro Conflict Defenders, working with those accused of major felonies. After graduating from Mercer, Billy handled a variety of legal issues, including drafting operating agreement, business litigation, independent research for technology companies, criminal defense litigation, and policy work.
Prior to joining John L. Mays, Attorney at Law, Billy spent three years as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia, focusing on workers’ compensation. As an Assistant Attorney General, he represented state agencies in Georgia, handling comprehensive workers’ compensation issues at the trial and appellate levels. After representing the largest employer in the state, Billy has a unique and diligent approach to handling work injuries, as well as all labor and employment matters.
Billy is licensed to practice law in Georgia and enjoys staying active, reading fiction and historical fiction, cooking, and most of all, loves spending time with his family.
